The Story

The Smartwool community is a collection of people who believe that time outside is valuable, restorative, and essential for everyone. The Smartwool brand is built on the desire to be comfortable on outdoor adventures—going farther and experiencing more. From the Merino wool supply chain to how they design our socks and apparel, Smartwool exists to help you play, live, and laugh in the great outdoors as often as you would like.

The Goal

In an increasingly crowded marketplace, Smartwool was looking to differentiate their product. After identifying a pain point in regards to an overabundance of choices, Smartwool launched the Sock Finder to help outdoor enthusiasts find the perfect pair of socks for each activity, style, and preference. Ventana was tasked with developing a social campaign leveraging the brand’s existing assets to drive awareness of this new product and the overall brand.

The Solution

Ventana delivered content that disrupted Smartwool’s usual advertising approach with compelling graphics and engaging copy meant to grab user’s attention and encourage shoppers to take the quiz. Using Facebook and Instagram’s A/B testing functionality, multiple creative iterations were produced in mobile first formats and tested against different audiences to find the most efficient variants.
